Garrethstown East

€340.00

Launching the kayak from the golden sands of Garrethstown Beach, we paddled toward the west side of the Old Head of Kinsale. The sandy bottom gives way to stratified sedimentary cliffs; copper seams glint within broken, contorted synclines and water‑carved caves. These exposed layers of geological time inform this sculptural bottle form: ochre, iron and copper slips layered and removed to echo the cliffs’ textures. Found materials gathered along the shore are integrated onto the clay, fitting the form as if they had always belonged — a small landscape made portable, a reflected appreciation, stewardship of place and process.
